The Creative After School Arts (CASA) program is seeking a Program Specialist to oversee our student program. This is a part-time position with lots of opportunity to be creative! Hourly rate: $16/hour.

Job Description:
Position: After School Arts Program Specialist

Supervisor: Site Director

Status: Part-time Hourly wage $16/hour

Schedule: Daily after in-person-school days. No program on days when school is off/cancelled. Hours: 2:15-5:30 PM.

Summary:
Program Specialist works directly with up to 20 students to provide a safe, responsible, well supervised after-school program, acting as a positive adult role model, coach and mentor. A Program Specialist must have a genuine interest in the growth and development of the students they teach. The Program Specialist's ability to establish authority through leadership, communication and most importantly patience is required to give the students the safe, stable and nurturing environment they need to succeed. The Program Specialist is responsible for planning, preparing and implementing an engaging and creative learning environment and establishing positive rapport with students and parents.

Duties:
o Ensure the safety and well being or youth by providing close supervision of all activities.
o Serve as a positive role model thru appropriate dress, speech, attitude and courtesy.
o Take attendance, offer a nutritional snack (provided), and offer to assist with homework.
o Plan, create and implement activities and events that are fun, developmentally appropriate, challenging and creative, utilizing available supplies.
o Observe, assess and manage youth behavior thru positive redirection or other appropriate behavior management techniques as necessary to support youth in making positive behavior choices.
o Supervise, participate in and clean up after daily activities.
o Communicate with families and supervisor on a weekly basis.
o Immediately report any injuries or incidents to the parents and Site Director.
Education and/or Experience
o High school diploma; ability to speak and write Standard English
o Ability to walk, climb stairs, bend, twist and lift 25 lbs.
o Knowledge of basic first aid.
o College credits in education, arts or sociology desired.
o Minimum 6 months experience working with youth in a classroom, afterschool or recreational setting.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Must pass a pre-employment background check.
o References required

MOVIE/CONCESSION STAFF

Movie/Concession Employee, Part Time/Per Diem: Hourly. Rate: Up to $13.50 per hour.

Job Duties:
Report for work 1 hour prior to advertised showtime. End work 30 minutes after end of show. A work shift is usually 4 - 7 hours. Shifts are scheduled by the Theater/Movie Manager.
Arrive for work well-groomed and dressed in clean clothes (may be an RFA uniform).
Be polite and present a pleasant demeanor in all interactions with the public.
Perform all duties on the Concession Complete Employee Checklist such as:
Restocking bathrooms, kitchen and concession area, emptying trash
Vacuuming and sweeping lobby & auditorium,
Unlock and lock theater at beginning and end of work shift.
Emptying trash and returnables,
Make popcorn
Run cash register, selling tickets and concessions and submit daily reports,
Run projector for preshow ads and movies
Email daily reports

Requirements: Well organized, self-starter at least 21 years old, obtain/maintain a Maine State Alcohol Seller & Server Certification
