What to Expect - All holes will be pre-drilled, and all fishing equipment and bait is provided by donations from members of the community. Supplies will be limited. We’ve invited Maine Game Wardens and State Biologists to join us on the ice. They will be fishing and available for questions.
Location - Haley Pond, Downtown Rangeley
What to Bring - You may wish to pack a lunch/snacks (s’mores!), a toboggan, and some folding camp chairs. Don’t forget to dress warmly! We’ll have a fire going.
New to ice fishing? Don’t worry! You can learn in a family-friendly environment. We’ll have resources there and for you to take home.
Need a License? Anyone may fish for free without a license on Maine’s waterways, except those who have had their license suspended or revoked. All other rules and regulations, including bag and possession limits, apply. The free fishing weekend is open to both residents and non-residents.
Want to Volunteer or Donate? We would love to have some extra hands! Please bring any extra traps, bait, or food to grill. Contact RLHT at 864-7311 or via email at Amanda Laliberte at alaliberte@rlht.org.
