“The Inaugural Black Ghost Classic ” The Outdoor Heritage Museum and grant's Camps will host a Catch and Release Fly Fishing Tourney at Kennebago Lake on Friday night, July 5th at 4:00 pm. Two-Angler teams will gather at Grant’s Kennebago Camps to compete for Prizes in the following categories; Best Trout Photo, Best Salmon Photo (Bigger Fish will receive special consideration from the judges) and Best Scenic Photo. All participants will receive complimentary beverages and hors d'oeurves at the reception, an embroidered “The Inaugural Black Ghost Classic” T-shirt commemorating the event, automatic entry into a prize raffle featuring fishing artwork and gear. All participants will receive free tickets to the International Fly Fishing Film Festival event on Saturday night at 7 pm in Rangeley.
The fishing will begin at 5:15 pm and end by 9 pm. Dry fly hatch cannot be guaranteed but an evening on Kennebago in early July can be quite productive and sometimes spectacular! There are spaces for just 5, Two-angler teams in supplied classic Rangeley Boat for a donation of $500.00 per team, in support of the museum. Kennebago owners and guests with boats/access to the Lake, may enter for a donation of $400.00 per team . The competition will end at 8:45 pm. The Award Ceremony will take place at the Herb Welch Festival Event at the Outdoor Heritage Museum the following Day at 2 pm. The Inaugural Black Ghost Classic is hosted and sponsored by our friends at Grant's Kennebago Camps.
