May 3 – Outdoor Heritage Museum Opens for the 2019 Season

The Museum recognized by Yankee Magazine a the “Best Outdoor Museum in New England” opens for its ninth season of sharing the iconic history of the region! The museum will premiere four new exhibits and numerous new additional artifacts. The exhibits featuring legends such as Fly Rod Crosby, Carrie Stevens, Herb Welch and the Rangeley Boat will have new additions. New Exhibits will feature a collection of Rangeley artifacts on Loan from the Maine State Museum, the 19th century mount of the Largest Brook Trout ever caught in the U.S. (right here in Rangeley Lake), Buckskin Sam, Rangeley Guides and Sportsman’s Assoc. and 19th Century Spring Hooks (now illegal) …just to name a few. Numerous events feature fun activities, off site historic tours, social events with live music, speakers, artists and more! Museum is open: 10-4 PM Weds. -Sun. in May, June, Sept. and Oct. and open 7 days a week in July and August.

Admission is $5.00 per person. Members may bring two guests free of charge on any visit. Active duty and retired military service members and children 12 and under are always admitted free of charge.
