NYC Vocalist Sami Stevens combines Jazz, Experimental and classic RnB sensibilities to forge a truly unique voice in original music. A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, Sami has performed with world renowned jazz pianist Jason Moran and 6-time Grammy nominee Fred Hersch, recorded with eclectic Foetus composer J.G. Thirwell, "King of Treme" Shannon Powell, and underground legend Gary Wilson, opened for Grammy nominated folk singer Greg Brown and Black Star MC Talib Kweli, and collaborated with Simon Hanes of Gorilla Toss/Cloud Becomes Your Hand/Tredici Bacci and world champ drummer Thomas Pridgen. Her projects have been lauded by publications like Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and the New York Times.
Sami has toured the US, Europe, and Australia with various projects, appearing at NYC venues like the Cutting Room, Brooklyn Bowl, and National Sawdust, and at music festivals like Sydney Fest, SXSW and Meltasia. Stevens has led the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, performed numerous times in Boston's Jordan Hall, and sung the national anthem in Fenway Park at age 16. Additionally, Sami acts as lead vocalist for in faux Italian 70’s soundtrack band Tredici Bacci (NNA Records), and prog soundtrack group Morricone Youth (Country Club Records).
