Rangeley Lakes Region Historical Society’s Rangeley History Museum – The newly remodeled and refurbished is in the heart of Rangeley on Main St in the region’s first brick building and is free to the public. Premiering New Exhibits Annually, the Society’s first museum has served as a bank, the town office and jail. The original old jail cell exhibit is in the cellar. The Society’s first museum features a wide variety of interesting exhibits and artifacts on the town’s first settlers, early family life, the Grand Hotel Era, Sporting Camps, Steamboats, the Narrow-gauge Railroad, Agricultural, Transportation and treasures from the 19th Century “Gilded Age”.
