The cool,
clean waters of the Rangeley Region offer many enjoyable
swimming opportunities.
Public swimming areas are found at Lakeside Park in
Rangeley Village and at the Rangeley Lakes State Park on
South Shore Drive. Lakeside
Park offers a sandy beach, enclosed swimming area, a
lifeguard, and even swimming lessons. |
|

There is no fee, except for the lessons.
Please refer to the Recreation schedule. |
The Rangeley
Lakes State Park is available by paying a day-use fee.
There is a lovely grassy area for sunning, a sandy
swim area, lifeguard, and picnic tables.
Many of the
area accommodations have excellent swimming
some with
sandy, gradual beaches; some with swim docks and floats; and
some with a bottom of small pebbles. Don't forget about
river swimming. Swimming
from sandbars and enjoying the current can be great fun.
There are many rocky areas, so diving is not suggested. |
