Expert fly-tier Chris Del Plato joins the Rangeley History Museum on Saturday, July 22 from 11-2 as part of the “Saturday Summer Series”. Del Plato began tying flies in 1995 and has spent the past 20+ years researching streamer and bucktail history and has a particular focus on the unique tying styles of Carrie Stevens, Lew Oatman, and Keith Fulsher, who was his mentor. He demonstrated streamer tying at the International Fly Tying Symposium in addition to being featured in numerous books and magazines, including Mike Valla's “The Founding Flies” and “Tying and Fishing Bucktails.” He currently runs ‘The Streamer List’, a large online community of streamer & bucktail aficionados, at StreamerList.com.
